2021

A private residence designed for photographer Janita Autio, transforming a neutral space into a bold and highly recognisable interior defined by a strong colour identity. Widely published and known for its distinctive visual expression, the project stands out as one of the most recognisable contemporary homes in Finland.

Project

The project involved a full renovation, where all fixed elements were redesigned to support a cohesive and expressive spatial concept. Colour was used as a primary design tool, shaping both the atmosphere and the structure of the space.

The interior is defined by a playful yet controlled palette, where soft pink tones and bold surfaces create a strong visual identity throughout the home. Custom structures and integrated elements reinforce the concept, resulting in a fully immersive and character-driven environment.

Key features include bespoke interventions such as a sculptural clothing rack and a fully tiled kitchen island, both acting as defining spatial elements. The project was developed in close collaboration with the client, allowing for a highly personal and unconventional outcome.
