Case

The spatial concept for Odd Space Halloween was developed around the venue’s existing industrial character, drawing inspiration from dark romanticism, gothic aesthetics and fashion-led visual references. Rather than concealing the raw architecture, the intention was to embrace it and build a darker, more theatrical atmosphere around its existing qualities.

The design process began with evaluating the space itself, identifying which existing elements to retain, what to remove and where new interventions would have the strongest impact. Stripping back unnecessary elements was just as important as introducing new ones, allowing the architecture and selected installations to take centre stage.

The concept was built around three main installations: a dramatic dining table near the entrance, a lounge area and a bed installation at the back of the dance floor. Strategically placed translucent plastic curtains connected these spaces, creating layers, depth and visual tension. Lighting, materials and spatial arrangements were carefully considered alongside the practical requirements of guest circulation and the event's different functions.

The creative direction was developed into a detailed spatial and production plan, covering installation placement, material selection, quantities, sourcing, lighting and styling. Working with the Odd Space team, the concept was brought to life on-site, with final styling and adjustments completed before the space was photographed and opened to guests.
